Don’t Shrink Back

Don’t Shrink Back

The whole earth is awaiting the revealing of the sons of God! (Rom. 8:19) Why?  Because we carry “good news from a far away country” and that good news, when shared, is “like cold water to a thirsty soul.”  (Prov. 25:25, ESV)  Jesus said “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”( Jn. 7:38)  God has water for a thirsty world and the wellhead of that water is inside of us!  The question is, “are you going to share it?”

Many believers are afraid to share the truth – to let the same rivers of living water that quenched their parched soul now come out of their mouth to quench the souls of others.  But why would we be afraid to share good news?  Why would we be afraid to share about something that changed our life for the better and secured our eternal destiny?  Why would we be afraid to share the Gospel?

SIMPLE.  The enemy is intimidating you and thereby stealing the word of salvation from others.

The enemy does not want us to share the truth because truth prevails in an open economy.  Lies look anemic next to the vibrancy of truth. The enemy only speaks lies and all lies stem from him.  So, knowing that lies don’t look good next to the truth, the devil always seeks to conceal the truth in order to be able to propagate lies.  His deceitful products do not compel the well-educated buyer.  His success depends upon our silence.

We need to tell people about Christ so that the enemy cannot dupe them any more!  People just don’t know!

But what if people disown me?  What if the whole world hates me?  Aren’t some people hostile to the gospel?  ABSOLUTELY!  You cannot desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and not suffer persecution. (2 Tim 3:12).  But Jesus said “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.”  (Matt. 5:11)  If by sharing the Gospel, you lose something from the world, you can be sure you will gain something from Heaven.  I’ll take that risk any day!

“Like a trampled spring and a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.”  (Prov 25:26, NASB)  As a believer, you have rivers of living water poised to burst forth out of you to turn the desert of your current surroundings into a lush meadow, to transform the hearts of God’s children, and bring His Kingdom to bear upon this earth.  But the enemy of our souls is pushing back.  He is a “wicked man” wanting to cause you to give way, wanting to pollute your well and trample your spring.  Are you going to let him do it?  Are you going to give way before the wicked?  The evil one who wants to conceal the word of salvation from the world?

Today is your day to stop hiding.  To take a stand.  Stop giving way to a bully.  Resist him and he will flee.  Turn on the lights and darkness will vanish.  Stand up, tell your mouth to open up, and let God’s salvation ring forth for all the land to hear!  Your lips stand between you and your destiny.
